Back again...

Okay, so now I'm up to date!

I've only actually done two things - opened this year's ISA and booked hotel for OH's birthday treat away.

I have 7 items in progress - trying to lose a 1lb a week (not necessarily succeeding though ;-) ), have finally started to sort out our holiday photos, went to church for Easter service, though I won't be able to go again until after I can start driving again in June.

We've also been kite flying, once in April (with success) and once in May (without success!!). I currently have 5 items on Ebay, (double whammy this one, as will also meet the £600 by Xmas goal!) and will add another couple today or tomorrow. I've been off of the coffee for over 3 weeks now (yay!!), have only 1 box of dad's stuff to finish off, am on my way to eating 5 a day and am in the process of transferring the ISA.

Phew, put like that, it seems that I'm achieving more than I thought I was!

Will update more tomorrow - thanks for reading, and good luck with your own journeys!!

Been a while...!

..... but I have been in hospital for my op, and am now on 6 week's sick leave.

I wrote off last week as I was still very much recovering from the op, but am feeling much better already, though I've learned that I need to pace myself and not try to do too much!

I've just noticed that I've added new goals to my spreadsheet but not updated here, so I'll do that now!

Back later!!

16 April 2009

Well, I'm still off work - feeling v grotty with this cold!

Have decided to update my list with some dates, so I can organise myself a bit better and know where I'm at! Also found out my 1001 date - am rather surprised that its not until Aug 2012 - seems a looong way off, but do understand that its that kind of thinking (ie I've got loads of time to get things done) that led to my procrastinating!

I'm also keeping an excel spreadsheet with my goals on which I can then filter by type of challenge and by month to be completed, so that should keep me on track! I've also put in a column to record the approximate cost, so again, I can see what a specific challenge might cost me, then I can schedule it into my budget!

See ya!

15 April 2009

Well, well, here we are at post no. 1.

Just had a couple of days off sick with a nasty cold, and have managed to get a head start on my list, even though I've yet to finish it!

My ISA for this year has been opened, and I've completed the paperwork for my ISA transfer from last year - need to take advantage of every penny of interest to hit my goal to be debt free by Christmas!

I've also added the cost of the Manoir aux'Quatre Saisons meal for my birthday next March into my budget planner - not sure when I should book it - although I think you have to book in advance, maybe 11 months ahead is a bit OTT! Also need to tell OH that we're spending £250 on one meal.... not sure how that's going to go down, but hey, its what I want for my birthday, and we rarely do much anyway!

I've also started looking at the cost of flights to Bilbao - not looking that expensive for a day trip, just need to be brave and book it! Am having a major op next Wednesday and will be out of action for some weeks, so think I'll wait until I've recovered til I think about dates.

Have completely sorted out the skiing photos from our holiday - now I need to tackle the 300-400 that I have of Las Vegas - bite size pieces, methinks! Definitely a job for after the op when I won't be able to do much - except study for the Prince2 qualification!

Anyway better go, I could keep rambling all day - but I have things to do....!

About Me

My photo
I'm a 41 year old Great Dane lover, living in the South East, looking to gain a sense of achievement! I have a lovely OH and daughter, as well as a handsome brindle great dane, called Scooby (hence my user name!). I'm using the 101 in 1001 as an opportunity to actually get some things done - in my work life, I'm quite accomplished and relatively organised - at home - I'm not!! Having now passed the big 4 0 last year, I've come to realise that life is a one time thing, and its time to take things in hand!
